NECO Construction is seeking skilled and hardworking Carpenters to join its construction team in Palau. This opportunity is ideal for experienced carpenters with strong skills in woodwork, construction, installation, finishing, and general building works.
Carpenter
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter in residential, commercial, or general construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of rough and finish carpentry, framing, formwork, installation, and wood finishing.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, measurements, sketches, and specifications.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and carpentry machinery.
- Good knowledge of wood, plywood, framing materials, fasteners, adhesives, and other construction materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality workmanship.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting materials, standing for extended periods, climbing, bending, and performing manual work.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in demanding construction environments.
- Knowledge of construction safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to work effectively as part of a construction team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry work for residential, commercial, and other construction projects according to plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, measurements, sketches, and work instructions.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other construction materials accurately.
- Construct and install wooden frames, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets, partitions, and other structures.
- Install and repair formwork, supports, temporary structures, and other carpentry components as required.
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work while maintaining proper dimensions, alignment, and workmanship.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
- Install wooden fixtures, trim, molding, flooring, and other finishing materials according to project requirements.
- Inspect completed carpentry work to ensure proper fit, alignment, strength, appearance, and quality.
- Repair, replace, or modify damaged or improperly installed carpentry components.
- Coordinate with masons, electricians, plumbers, painters, engineers, and other construction workers to ensure smooth project progress.
- Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment required for assigned carpentry tasks.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of lumber, tools, equipment, and other construction materials.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary materials and debris.
- Follow construction plans, project specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe working practices when operating tools and working at heights.
- Report material requirements, construction issues, equipment problems, and safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Perform other carpentry, construction, repair, and maintenance duties assigned by management.
