CARPENTER

Qualifications:

• With a valid TESDA Certificate (NC II).
• Knowledge and experience in general carpentry and finishing carpentry.
• Knowledgeable in generator operation and basic repair/troubleshooting, particularly in case of breakdown.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, installing, and finishing wooden components.
• Familiarity with common carpentry hand tools, power tools, and construction materials.
• Able to read and follow basic construction drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Physically fit and capable of performing carpentry, lifting, bending, standing, and other construction-related tasks.
• Able to operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Responsible, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Able to work effectively with other construction workers and project-site personnel.
• Willing to work in a construction or industrial project environment in Mozambique.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general carpentry and finishing carpentry work according to project requirements and supervisor instructions.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other construction materials accurately.
• Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, fixtures, panels, partitions, doors, frames, and other components.
• Perform finishing carpentry work to achieve proper fit, alignment, appearance, and workmanship.
• Read and follow basic construction drawings, measurements, specifications, and work instructions.
• Prepare materials and work areas before starting carpentry activities.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and carpentry machinery safely and properly.
• Install and adjust doors, frames, cabinets, panels, trims, and other finishing components as assigned.
• Conduct repairs and modifications to existing wooden structures and fixtures.
• Check completed carpentry work for proper dimensions, alignment, stability, and finish.
• Identify defective materials or workmanship issues and report them to the supervisor.
• Maintain carpentry tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Operate generators when required to support construction or site activities.
• Perform basic generator checks and troubleshooting in case of operational problems or breakdown.
• Assist with basic generator repair and maintenance within the scope of assigned duties.
• Follow proper procedures when starting, operating, shutting down, and maintaining generators.
• Keep work areas, tools, and materials clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow project-site health and safety rules and proper construction procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with other construction workers, supervisors, and technical personnel to complete work efficiently.
• Perform other carpentry, finishing, generator-support, and related duties assigned by management.
