Jabil Circuit Sdn. is seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Planner Manager for an overseas work opportunity in Malaysia. The successful candidate will assist in managing production planning activities, coordinate manufacturing schedules and material requirements, and support the planning team in achieving production and customer delivery targets.
Assist Planner Manager
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain planning, or a related manufacturing planning role.
- Candidates with experience in EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or OEM (Electrical & Electronics Manufacturing) are preferred.
- Experience in an electronics, electrical, or high-volume manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Proven experience in production scheduling, material requirements planning, inventory coordination, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze customer demand, production requirements, material availability, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple production priorities and respond effectively to schedule changes.
- Experience coordinating or supervising planning personnel is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production, procurement, materials, warehouse, engineering, quality, and customer service teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, is an advantage.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, or manufacturing planning systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in production planning and reporting.
- Ability to prepare management reports, planning schedules, forecasts, and data analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production and customer delivery deadlines.
- Leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate planning team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary manufacturing team.
- Willing to follow company policies, manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Planning Manager in managing daily production planning and scheduling activities.
- Support the development and implementation of production plans based on customer demand, orders, forecasts, available materials, and manufacturing capacity.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure customer requirements and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Coordinate with production, materials, procurement, warehouse, engineering, quality, and other departments to maintain smooth production operations.
- Review material requirements and monitor the availability of components and raw materials needed for scheduled production.
- Identify material shortages, capacity constraints, production bottlenecks, and potential delivery risks.
- Coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments to minimize production delays.
- Assist in prioritizing production orders based on customer requirements, delivery schedules, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Monitor production progress against planned schedules and recommend schedule adjustments when necessary.
- Coordinate changes to production schedules resulting from customer requirements, material shortages, equipment issues, or capacity constraints.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper alignment between inventory, production requirements, and customer demand.
- Coordinate with procurement and materials teams regarding material availability and expected delivery dates.
- Analyze production planning data, inventory information, capacity requirements, and customer demand to support management decisions.
- Prepare and maintain production planning reports, schedules, forecasts, trackers, and management presentations.
- Monitor planning performance indicators such as schedule adherence, inventory levels, production output, material shortages, and on-time delivery.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve production planning processes, inventory utilization, production flow, and delivery performance.
- Support new product introductions, engineering changes, production transfers, and other manufacturing projects.
- Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to identify bottlenecks and improve production efficiency.
- Support the implementation of planning procedures, systems, controls, and standard processes.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and providing guidance to planners and planning staff.
- Review planning team activities and help ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Support the Planning Manager in resolving operational and planning issues.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and communicate planning requirements, changes, risks, and priorities.
- Ensure planning activities comply with company policies, manufacturing procedures, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Perform other planning, coordination, and supervisory duties assigned by management.
