First Wood Co. is seeking qualified and experienced Welders to work in Japan. The position is intended for candidates who have successfully completed TITP (II) training in Japan as a shipbuilding worker and have the required trade skills certification. Successful candidates will perform welding and related metal fabrication work while following technical specifications, quality standards, and Japanese workplace safety procedures.

WELDER

Qualifications:

• Male applicants only.
• 20–40 years old.
• Physically and mentally fit for work abroad.
• Must have successfully completed TITP (II) training in Japan as a shipbuilding worker.
• Must be able to provide a photocopy of the Level 3 Trade Skills Test certificate, to be submitted together with the Employment Application Form.
• Relevant experience in welding and shipbuilding work.
  Knowledge of welding procedures, metal preparation, fitting, and finishing.
• Able to follow technical instructions, drawings, specifications, and workplace safety procedures.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Responsible, hardworking, and willing to work as part of a shipbuilding team.
• Willing to follow Japanese workplace rules, regulations, and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding work on metal components and structures according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Carry out welding and related fabrication tasks for shipbuilding and marine construction projects.
• Prepare metal surfaces, joints, and workpieces before welding.
• Measure, align, fit, and position metal components accurately prior to welding.
• Operate welding machines, tools, and related equipment safely and correctly.
• Apply appropriate welding techniques according to the assigned work and approved procedures.
• Inspect welded joints for proper alignment, appearance, strength, and workmanship.
• Perform grinding, cutting, cleaning, and finishing of welded components as required.
• Follow welding symbols, measurements, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Conduct basic checks of welding equipment and tools before and during work.
• Identify welding defects, irregularities, or quality issues and report them to supervisors.
• Perform rework or repair of welds as instructed.
• Handle welding consumables, tools, and materials properly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding work area.
• Follow Japanese workplace safety rules and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with supervisors, welders, fabricators, and other shipbuilding personnel.
• Complete assigned welding tasks efficiently while maintaining required quality standards.
• Participate in workplace training and follow Japanese shipbuilding work procedures.
• Perform other welding, fabrication, and shipbuilding-related duties assigned by management.
