Four Leaf Business Cooperative is seeking qualified and experienced Industrial Welders for employment in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa program for the Shipbuilding Industry. The successful candidates will perform welding and related metal fabrication work in shipbuilding and shipyard environments while following technical specifications, quality standards, and Japanese workplace safety procedures.

INDUSTRIAL WELDER

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Industrial Engineering or a similar field.
• Graduate of a vocational or technical course with TESDA certification.
• Relevant experience in industrial welding, shipbuilding, ship repair, steel fabrication, or related metalworking.
• Must pass the Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese (JFT-Basic) or meet the required JPT N4 level.
• Must pass the required skills proficiency test relevant to the intended industry.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, steel fabrication, fitting, and shipbuilding work.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, welding symbols, measurements, and work instructions.
• Ability to safely operate welding machines, grinders, and related metalworking tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to welding quality and accuracy.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on welding and shipyard work.
• Able to work in demanding shipyard environments and follow workplace safety procedures.
• Strong commitment to proper use of PPE and compliance with Japanese occupational safety requirements.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to work effectively as part of a shipbuilding team.
• Willing to work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa for the Shipbuilding Industry.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding work on shipbuilding structures, steel components, and related metal assemblies.
• Prepare steel plates, structural components, and welding joints before welding.
• Read and follow technical drawings, welding symbols, measurements, specifications, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate appropriate welding machines and related equipment.
• Select suitable welding processes, electrodes, wires, gases, and other consumables according to job requirements.
• Perform welding in various positions as required for shipbuilding and fabrication work.
• Conduct tack welding and complete welds according to specified procedures.
• Maintain proper welding parameters, heat control, and welding techniques to achieve quality results.
• Inspect welds visually and identify cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, or other welding defects.
• Perform grinding, cleaning, and finishing of welded areas as required.
• Correct welding defects and perform repair welding according to approved procedures.
• Use welding tools, grinders, clamps, measuring instruments, and other fabrication equipment safely.
• Assist with fitting, alignment, positioning, and assembly of steel components before welding.
• Ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and fit-up of shipbuilding components.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, cables, hoses, and work areas in good condition.
• Perform basic equipment checks and report malfunctioning welding machines or tools to supervisors.
• Follow approved welding procedures, production schedules, and shipyard quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate work and inspection records when required.
• Handle steel materials, welding consumables, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow strict shipyard safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and minimize fire, electrical, and other workplace hazards.
• Coordinate with welders, fitters, fabricators, supervisors, and other shipyard personnel.
• Assist with other welding, fabrication, fitting, and shipbuilding tasks as assigned.
