Woongnam Engineering & Construction, Lda is seeking experienced Erectors to support structural steel construction projects in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for erecting and aligning structural steel components, assisting lifting operations, and ensuring all installations are completed safely and according to engineering specifications.

ERECTOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an Erector or Structural Steel Erector.
• Must be at least a high school graduate.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and erection plans.
• Experience in structural steel erection, rigging, alignment, and installation of heavy steel components.
• Familiarity with bolting, riveting, and basic welding techniques is an advantage.
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices, rigging procedures, and working-at-height safety requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding construction work in outdoor environments.
• Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work under minimal supervision.
• Willing to work in Mozambique and comply with company safety and project standards.

Responsibilities:

• Raise, position, align, and install heavy steel beams, columns, girders, trusses, pipe racks, and other structural steel components according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Read and interpret structural blueprints, fabrication drawings, and erection plans.
• Guide crane operators during lifting and positioning of structural steel using standard hand signals or communication devices.
• Use rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, hooks, and lifting accessories to safely move and position heavy materials.
• Connect, align, and secure steel components using bolts, rivets, or welding methods as required.
• Verify structural alignment, plumbness, and levelness using measuring and leveling instruments.
• Install temporary supports and bracing to maintain structural stability during erection.
• Coordinate with welders, riggers, crane operators, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
• Inspect erected structures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially when working at heights and handling heavy loads.
• Maintain tools, rigging equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Perform other structural steel erection duties as assigned.
