Auto Technician (Mechanic)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience as an Auto Technician, Automotive Mechanic, or in a similar position.
• Bachelor’s / College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Knowledge of automotive preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
• Practical experience performing oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, tune-ups, and other scheduled maintenance.
• Ability to inspect, repair, and replace worn or defective vehicle components.
• Knowledge of brake systems, sensors, exhaust components, engine systems, and other major automotive systems.
• Ability to conduct road tests and post-repair system checks to verify vehicle safety and performance.
• Ability to safely use automotive hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Good understanding of manufacturer specifications, repair procedures, and vehicle safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically capable of performing hands-on automotive maintenance and repair work.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of an automotive service team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, tune-ups, and other preventive maintenance services.
• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical problems, worn components, leaks, abnormal sounds, and other issues requiring repair.
• Diagnose vehicle mechanical and system faults using appropriate inspection procedures, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Replace or repair worn, damaged, or defective automotive parts and components.
• Service and replace brake pads, sensors, exhaust components, filters, belts, hoses, and other vehicle parts as required.
• Check and maintain engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, exhaust, and other major vehicle systems.
• Perform adjustments and minor repairs to ensure proper vehicle performance and reliability.
• Conduct road tests and system checks after repairs to verify that vehicles operate safely and meet required specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, and automotive diagnostic instruments safely and correctly.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical specifications, service schedules, and workshop instructions.
• Identify additional repair or maintenance requirements and report major mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, replaced parts, and service work performed.
• Ensure all completed repairs meet factory specifications, quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and properly store tools, equipment, parts, and materials.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with other technicians, service personnel, and supervisors to complete repair and maintenance work efficiently.
• Assist with other mechanical inspection, servicing, and repair duties as assigned by management.
