PAINTER

Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in painting, surface preparation, and finishing works.
  • Vocational Diploma, Short Course Certificate, or equivalent qualification in a related field.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this position.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Practical knowledge of surface preparation, painting, and finishing techniques.
  • Proficiency in applying paint, varnish, primers, protective coatings, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, structures, and equipment.
  • Ability to identify and repair surface defects, including cracks, holes, dents, and uneven areas before painting.
  • Familiarity with different types of paints, coatings, painting materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to produce smooth, even, and professional-quality finishes.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper handling of painting materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and removal of old or peeling paint.
  • Inspect walls, ceilings, structures, and equipment to identify surface defects requiring repair.
  • Repair cracks, holes, dents, and uneven surfaces using appropriate fillers and preparation materials.
  • Apply primers, paints, varnishes, protective coatings, and other finishes according to project specifications.
  • Carry out painting and finishing works on walls, ceilings, doors, fixtures, structures, and facility equipment.
  • Select suitable painting materials, colors, tools, and application methods for each assigned task.
  • Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting equipment to achieve quality finishes.
  • Ensure painted surfaces are smooth, uniform, clean, and free from visible imperfections.
  • Cover and protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas from paint spills or damage.
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe throughout and after each job.
  • Observe workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine painting maintenance and touch-up works to maintain the appearance and durability of buildings and facilities.
  • Carry out other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
