AUTOBODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in a relevant field is required.
- Strong knowledge of vehicles and automotive parts.
- Proven experience in autobody repair and collision repair.
- Ability to perform quality vehicle body repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Good understanding of vehicle body components, repair methods, and automotive workshop procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on automotive repair duties.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to follow technical instructions, company procedures, and safety requirements.
- Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious.
- Able to work independently and as part of an automotive repair team.
- Willing to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality collision and autobody repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Inspect damaged vehicles and identify the extent of body and structural damage.
- Repair, restore, replace, and refit damaged vehicle body components as required.
- Remove damaged panels, components, and other parts before repair or replacement.
- Straighten, reshape, align, and restore vehicle body panels to their original condition.
- Ensure proper alignment and fit of replacement body panels and automotive parts.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, and repair equipment safely.
- Perform body repair work according to manufacturer specifications and established workshop procedures.
- Check repaired areas to ensure proper workmanship, fit, alignment, and finish.
- Coordinate with other technicians and workshop personnel to complete repair projects efficiently.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, project-based automotive repair environment.
- Follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and repair guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, professional, harmonious, and productive work environment.
- Use personal protective equipment and follow workplace health and safety requirements.
- Keep the repair bay, workshop, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
- Properly dispose of damaged vehicle components and other waste materials in designated disposal areas.
- Handle used paper, plastics, damaged parts, and other workshop materials according to company disposal procedures.
- Protect vehicles and surrounding work areas from unnecessary damage during repairs.
- Report additional damage, repair concerns, equipment problems, or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Complete assigned repairs according to required deadlines and quality expectations.
- Perform other autobody repair and workshop duties assigned by management.
