AIRPORT MANAGER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- A professional certification in Aviation, Airport Operations, or Management certifications) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in airport or ground operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role at Tier Global Airports
- Proven track record in managing airport operations, including passenger services, ramp operations, baggage handling, and load control.
- Strong knowledge of IATA/ICAO regulations, airport safety and security protocols, and ground handling standards.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including coordination with ground handling agents, airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage crisis situations (e.g., delays, diversions, disruptions), and drive performance improvements.
- Familiarity with departure control systems (DCS), weight & balance systems, DGR and operational reporting tools is essential.
- Station start-up or launch experience is an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure day-to-day airport operations, including passenger services, ramp, check-in, baggage, lounge, and ticketing—are conducted in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, in line with company standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Drive and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly On-Time Performance (OTP), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and KPIs across all operational areas.
- Proactively manage passenger disruption scenarios (e.g., delays, diversions, denied boarding) with a service recovery mindset that restores confidence and protects the brand reputation.
- Ensure adherence to safety and security policies, local regulations (e.g., GACA), IOSA standards, and health & safety protocols at all times.
- Oversee performance of Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), including compliance with the Station Ground Handling Agreement
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks of GHAs and internal teams across all touchpoints—particularly in Load Control, baggage handling, and check-into identify and address service deviations or safety concerns.
- Maintain and periodically review the station’s Emergency Response Plan (ERP), and coordinate emergency preparedness, training, and stakeholder engagement for robust contingency management.
- Lead and develop the airport team, including frontline leaders and customer service staff, ensuring high performance, motivation, grooming standards, and adherence to operational SOPs.
- Collaborate with HR to manage timely recruitment and backfilling of roles, while working with the Training Department to onboard and upskill new and existing employees.
- Ensure operational readiness by coordinating infrastructure requirements, including IT systems, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), storage, office space, and signage, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee budget planning and cost control, including cost-per-passenger analysis, resource optimization, and capital expenditure reviews to ensure value-driven operations.
- Identify and lead process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology adoption to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Monitor and manage ULD (Unit Load Device) inventories and ensure accurate stock control in line with station allocation.
- Maintain documentation related to Passenger Services, Ground Operations Manuals, and internal procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, quality, and brand standards.
- Lead and support the implementation of new projects and initiatives at the station, including those related to commercial readiness, systems upgrades, or operational expansions.
- Actively contributes to airport readiness programs, including system integration, staff mobilization, and partner engagement for new route launches or capacity changes.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of operational performance, safety incidents, service disruptions, and corrective actions, using dynamic reporting tools and data-driven insights.
- Manage third-party suppliers, contractors, and service partners, ensuring contractual adherence and delivery of agreed KPIs across safety, service, and operational metrics.
- Perform administrative responsibilities such as validating supplier invoices, processing baggage claims, investigating customer complaints, and submitting accurate monthly operational reports.

- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
