Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) System Technician
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in airfield ground lighting systems, electrical maintenance, or airport operations.
- Strong knowledge of runway edge lights, threshold lights, Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI), and Constant Current Regulators (CCR).
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of AGL systems and airport lighting equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults, transformers, circuits, and lighting control systems efficiently.
- Familiarity with system testing, calibration, alignment checks, and photometric measurements.
- Knowledge of airport safety standards, electrical regulations, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of working in airport and outdoor operational environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on runway edge lights, threshold lights, PAPI systems, and CCR units.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and repair lighting circuitry to minimize airport downtime and operational disruptions.
- Isolate and repair transformers, electrical connections, and related AGL components.
- Conduct routine testing, calibration, alignment checks, and photometric measurements to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor system performance and ensure all airfield lighting systems operate reliably and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with airport operations and maintenance teams regarding repair activities and operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, aviation standards, and company operational policies.
- Maintain tools, testing instruments, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requirements and operational issues involving airfield lighting systems.
