The Protea is seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef for an overseas work opportunity in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked products while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, consistency, and food safety.

Experience in luxury pastry, wedding desserts, and hospitality is highly advantageous. Applicants should be prepared to provide photos, videos, or a portfolio of previous pastry work as part of the recruitment and evaluation process

PASTRY CHEF

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a Vocational or TESDA Certificate in Baking, Pastry, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Must have 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef.
  • Proven experience in professional pastry production and dessert preparation is required.
  • Experience in luxury pastry, wedding desserts, and hospitality is an advantage.
  • Must have strong skills in pastry preparation, baking, decoration, finishing, and dessert presentation.
  • Must be creative, detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain consistent quality.
  • Must be able to provide photos, videos, or a portfolio of previous pastry work for evaluation.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality or professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked products according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Create and present high-quality pastries and desserts with attention to taste, texture, appearance, and presentation.
  • Prepare luxury pastries and specialty desserts for events, functions, and hospitality services.
  • Create and prepare wedding cakes, wedding desserts, and customized pastry products according to client or event requirements.
  • Measure, mix, prepare, and bake ingredients accurately while maintaining consistency in production.
  • Decorate and finish pastries and desserts to professional presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper food preparation, storage, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
  • Monitor ingredient quality and inventory and report shortages or quality concerns.
  • Keep pastry production areas, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff and other culinary professionals to ensure smooth food production and timely service.
  • Assist in developing new pastry products, desserts, and presentation concepts when required.
