Al Jazirah Vehicle Agencies Co., Ltd. / AVJA Ford Saudi Arabia is seeking a qualified and organized Workshop / Job Controller to support daily automotive workshop operations. The successful candidate will coordinate repair orders, monitor vehicle service and repair progress, communicate with technicians and service personnel, and help ensure that workshop jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and according to established automotive service standards.
WORKSHOP / JOB CONTROLLER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology major in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, or a related field; or a
- Vocational Automotive Servicing NC I, NC II, or NC III qualification.
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience in automotive servicing, workshop operations, job control, or a related industry.
- Previous experience in an automotive dealership is an advantage.
- Knowledge of automotive repair, preventive maintenance, vehicle inspection, and workshop operations.
- Understanding of repair orders, job cards, technician assignments, parts requirements, and workshop workflow.
- Ability to monitor multiple repair jobs and ensure timely completion.
- Good organizational, coordination, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining job and service records.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with technicians, service advisors, parts personnel, and supervisors.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use workshop management systems, spreadsheets, and other relevant software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced automotive workshop environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical instructions and company procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality service, and efficient workshop operations.
- Responsible, reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary automotive team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor the daily flow of repair and maintenance jobs within the automotive workshop.
- Receive, review, and process vehicle repair orders and job cards.
- Ensure that customer and vehicle information, reported concerns, and required services are properly documented.
- Assign jobs to appropriate technicians based on their skills, workload, and the requirements of the repair.
- Monitor the progress of vehicles throughout the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and completion stages.
- Coordinate with service advisors, technicians, parts personnel, and workshop supervisors to maintain efficient workflow.
- Follow up on delayed, pending, or complicated repair jobs and coordinate appropriate action.
- Ensure that technicians have the required job information, tools, parts, and technical instructions before starting work.
- Monitor estimated repair times and compare actual job progress against planned completion schedules.
- Coordinate parts requirements with the spare parts department and follow up on unavailable or delayed components.
- Review completed work orders to ensure that required repairs and services have been properly carried out and documented.
- Assist in checking vehicle repair status before releasing completed jobs to the service or delivery process.
- Coordinate additional repair requirements identified during vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of job status, technician assignments, repair activities, and completion times.
- Update workshop management systems and other relevant records with accurate job information.
- Monitor workshop productivity, job completion, technician utilization, and turnaround time.
- Prepare basic workshop reports and provide updates on pending, completed, and delayed jobs.
- Assist in identifying workflow issues and recommend improvements to increase workshop efficiency.
- Ensure that workshop activities follow company procedures, technical standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Coordinate with quality-control personnel to ensure completed repairs meet required standards.
- Assist with vehicle inspection, testing, and final job verification when required.
- Maintain effective communication with workshop supervisors and other departments regarding job priorities and requirements.
- Support warranty, recall, and scheduled maintenance activities when applicable.
- Help maintain an organized and efficient workshop environment.
- Perform other workshop coordination, job-control, and automotive service duties assigned by management.
