Aureol Global Connections is seeking a highly qualified Welding Inspector for projects in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and verifying welding activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, international welding standards, quality assurance requirements, and client expectations. The role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical, or Data Center construction projects, particularly involving piping systems and high-purity process installations.
WELDING INSPECTOR
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of extensive experience as a Welding Inspector.
- Proven experience in Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical, or Data Center construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding processes, fabrication, and installation practices.
- Thorough understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and piping layouts.
- Valid Welding Inspector Certification is required, such as:
- International Welding Engineer (IWE)
- European Welding Engineer (EWE)
- CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2
- Or equivalent internationally recognized certification
- Knowledge of applicable international welding codes and standards, including ASME, AWS, ISO, or EN standards.
- Experience coordinating Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities is an advantage.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Willing to work in Ireland and comply with project-specific quality and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and international codes and standards.
- Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) documentation.
- Inspect fit-up, joint preparation, welding techniques, and completed welds before, during, and after fabrication or installation.
- Verify that welding consumables, materials, and equipment meet project and quality requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct visual inspections and coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant, and other required inspections.
- Prepare inspection reports, weld maps, punch lists, and quality documentation.
- Identify welding defects, recommend corrective actions, and verify completion of repairs.
- Coordinate with project engineers, quality control personnel, contractors, and client representatives to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with project quality management systems, safety regulations, and client procedures.
- Participate in quality audits, inspections, and project meetings.
- Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and workmanship standards.
- Maintain complete inspection records and support project handover documentation.
- Perform other welding quality assurance and inspection duties assigned by management.
