WELDER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• 3–5 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry is required.
• Proven experience operating TIG, MIG/MAG, and Flux-Core welding equipment.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
• Skilled in welding structural steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and workplace safety.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding shipyard environments.

Responsibilities:

• Operate TIG (GTAW), MIG/MAG (GMAW), and Flux-Core welding equipment in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Assemble, fit, and weld large structural components made of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Weld massive structures such as ship frames, tanks, hull sections, and other shipbuilding components.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Measure, align, fit, and position components accurately before welding.
• Inspect completed welds for defects and ensure they meet required quality and safety standards.
• Perform proper preparation, cleaning, and finishing of welded surfaces.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, and equipment and follow workplace safety procedures.
• Work closely with fitters, welders, supervisors, and other shipyard personnel to meet production schedules.
