STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATOR
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, and preparing structural steel components.
- Experience operating steel fabrication tools and workshop machinery.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, material handling, and quality standards.
- Good understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Able to work independently and as part of a fabrication team.
- Applicants must be between 25 and 50 years old.
- Physically fit and medically fit to perform heavy fabrication work.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and technical documents.
- Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, and shape steel sections using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Fit and align structural steel members prior to welding or bolting.
- Operate fabrication machinery such as band saws, drill presses, ironworkers, cutting machines, and grinders.
- Perform tack welding and assist welders during fabrication when required.
- Inspect fabricated components to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Repair or modify fabricated steel structures as instructed by supervisors or engineers.
- Handle and move steel materials safely using lifting equipment and overhead cranes where authorized.
- Maintain fabrication tools, machinery, and workstations in good working condition.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other fabrication and workshop duties assigned by management.
