Job Location: Mozambique
Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd is seeking an experienced Steel Structure Supervisor to oversee steel fabrication and erection activities for major construction projects in Mozambique. The successful candidate will supervise structural steel installation, welding, fit-up, heavy lifting operations, and quality control while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, international standards, and workplace safety requirements.
STEEL STRUCTURE SUPERVISOR
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in steel structure construction or supervision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Strong experience in structural steel erection, welding supervision, and heavy lifting operations.
- Knowledge of international welding, structural steel, inspection, and construction standards.
- Experience managing construction teams and coordinating with quality and safety personnel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily steel structure erection, fit-up, welding, and heavy lifting activities.
- Ensure all work is performed according to approved engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction schedules.
- Lead daily toolbox meetings and conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) before work activities.
- Manage work permit systems and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Coordinate with quality inspectors for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), welding inspections, and coating inspections.
- Verify that welding, structural assembly, and protective coatings comply with applicable international codes and project requirements.
- Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) documentation.
- Monitor, investigate, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and project management teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
- Monitor workforce productivity, material usage, and project progress while ensuring quality workmanship.
