SPECIALIST SURGEON (Doctor of Surgery)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years relevant surgical experience
• Must be a Licensed Professional (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam)
• Must be registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner (Surgery) under the Medical Board
• Must hold a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Surgery or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Proven experience in hospital and/or private clinical surgical practice
• Strong technical competence in surgical procedures and clinical decision-making
• Excellent communication and patient counselling skills
• High level of professional judgment, ethics, and accountability
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary and high-pressure environments
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning

Responsibilities:

• Perform specialist surgical procedures based on facility capability and approved scope of practice
• Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and surgical decision-making
• Ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Deliver high-quality patient care and surgical treatment outcomes
• Conduct patient counselling and explain surgical procedures and risks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for patient management
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and surgical records
• Uphold ethical standards, accountability, and professional conduct
• Support continuous improvement in surgical and clinical practices
