Jabil Circuit Sdn. is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage strategic purchasing and sourcing activities while optimizing material costs and strengthening supplier performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing supply chain strategies, negotiating with suppliers, supporting cost-reduction initiatives, and ensuring materials are sourced efficiently and competitively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, sourcing, and supply chain operations.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in supplier performance management and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• APICS, NAPM, or other supply chain certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective purchasing and supply chain strategies.
• Optimize material costs through strategic sourcing, cost analysis, and supplier negotiations.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supplier agreements.
• Manage strategic suppliers and monitor their performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified and approved suppliers.
• Conduct supplier sourcing and quotation activities.
• Support standard costing and material cost analysis.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction and procurement improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Business Units, Supply Chain Management, customers, engineering, and other internal departments.
• Monitor purchasing activities to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Resolve supplier-related issues involving pricing, quality, delivery, and material availability.
• Maintain effective supplier relationships and support continuous supplier development.
• Analyze purchasing data and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing and supply chain information.
• Prepare purchasing reports, supplier performance reports, and cost analysis.
• Lead or support supply chain improvement projects.
• Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to purchasing staff.
• Assist in the recruitment and development of purchasing personnel when required.
• Promote continuous improvement in purchasing processes and supply chain operations.
