Camp Operation Manager
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Business Studies/Administration/Management; Hospitality/Tourism Management or similar fields.
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Business Management, Operations Management or a related discipline
- Minimum seven years’ experience in camp management, village management, facilities management, mining camp operations, remote
accommodation facilities or large-scale hospitality operations. - Minimum three years’ experience in a management or senior supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience managing accommodation facilities housing a minimum of 200 personnel.
- Experience managing catering, housekeeping, maintenance and support service functions
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- Previous experience within mining, oil and gas, construction or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience working in Papua New Guinea, Australia, the Pacific Islands or other remote locations
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Food Safety Qualification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Health and Safety training and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Bahma Camp accommodation facility.
- Ensure accommodation, catering and support services are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Maintain occupancy records and coordinate room allocations.
- Ensure accommodation units, ablutions and common areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Supervise housekeeping and cleaning activities.
- Coordinate linen and laundry services
- Monitor room readiness and occupancy requirements.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for all residents.
- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Monitor camp infrastructure including buildings, utilities, air conditioning, power, water and sewerage systems
- Raise and monitor maintenance requests.
- Maintain camp assets, equipment registers and facility records.
- Ensure all camp infrastructure remains operational and serviceable.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture
- Ensure compliance with company policies, site rules and statutory requirements.
- Participate in inspections, audits and incident investigations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities
- Ensure camp operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Coordinate camp security services and access control requirements
- Respond to resident concerns and camp-related issues
- Promote a respectful and professional camp environment.
- Support resident wellbeing and welfare initiatives
- Lead and supervise camp service personnel.
- Conduct daily operational meetings as required
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports
- Monitor camp inventories and procurement requirements
- Promote teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain camp operating procedures and standards
- Monitor camp performance and operational service delivery
- Ensure camp facilities remain clean, safe and fit for purpose
- Coordinate resident arrivals and departures.
- Oversee catering operations and meal service delivery
- Ensure food quality, hygiene and food safety standards are maintained.
- Coordinate menu planning and dietary requirements.
- Monitor catering inventories and consumable stock levels.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining facilities.
- Liaise with client representatives regarding camp services and accommodation requirements
- Coordinate contractor and service provider activities.
- Maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
