Registered Guidance Counselor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education may also be considered based on the employer’s requirements.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Guidance Counselor or in a similar educational role.
• Registered Guidance Counselor or holder of the appropriate professional license is an advantage.
• Excellent counseling, communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and case management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.
• High level of professionalism, empathy, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with student development programs, counseling techniques, and educational support services.
• Willing to work in Qatar under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students experiencing academic, personal, behavioral, emotional, or social concerns.
• Develop and implement comprehensive guidance and counseling programs that promote students’ holistic growth and well-being.
• Conduct student assessments and identify learners who require additional academic or psychological support.
• Assist students in developing educational, career, and personal goals through appropriate guidance activities.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to address student concerns and develop intervention strategies.
• Organize orientation programs, career guidance activities, seminars, and workshops that support student development.
• Maintain confidential counseling records, case files, and student documentation in accordance with professional ethics and school policies.
• Monitor students’ academic progress, attendance, and behavior, providing timely interventions when necessary.
• Promote positive mental health, resilience, and healthy relationships within the school community.
• Refer students to appropriate external professionals or agencies when specialized support is required.
• Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, child safeguarding standards, and ethical counseling practices.
