Franklin Smith Limited is seeking experienced Refrigeration Technicians to join its team in New Zealand. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems and equipment while ensuring efficient operation, compliance with technical requirements, and adherence to workplace safety standards.

Refrigeration Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of overseas experience as a Refrigeration Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical trade skills in refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans, specifications, and safety procedures.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
• Inspect refrigeration equipment to identify faults, performance issues, and maintenance requirements.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, refrigeration schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Install and service refrigeration components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, piping, and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of refrigeration equipment.
• Handle refrigerants properly and comply with environmental and safety regulations.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation accurately.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
