Piping Welder (Stainless Steel)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of welding experience, preferably in oil & gas or industrial construction projects.
  • Proven experience in stainless steel piping welding works.
  • Welding certification (e.g., GTAW/TIG qualification or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and WPS.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in stainless steel fabrication requirements.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding of stainless steel pipes using approved welding processes (e.g., GTAW/TIG, SMAW, or other specified methods).
  • Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and fabrication standards.
  • Carry out proper joint preparation, cleaning, alignment, and fit-up prior to welding.
  • Ensure weld quality compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
  • Perform welding works with strict attention to contamination control and material handling specific to stainless steel.
  • Conduct visual inspection of welds and support NDT requirements when needed.
  • Repair or rework non-conforming welds as directed by supervisors or QC inspectors.
  • Maintain welding tools, equipment, and consumables in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with pipe fitters, supervisors, and QC personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
