Piping Welder (Carbon Steel)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a welder, preferably in oil & gas or construction projects.
  • Proven experience in carbon steel piping welding works.
  • Must be certified in welding (e.g., SMAW/GTAW or equivalent qualification is an advantage).
  • Ability to read and interpret welding drawings and WPS.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API) is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of site safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Physically fit and able to work in demanding site conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding of carbon steel pipes using approved welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, or others as required).
  • Interpret and follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and fabrication standards.
  • Ensure proper joint preparation, alignment, and fit-up prior to welding.
  • Conduct welding works in accordance with project quality and safety requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds and ensure compliance with visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) standards.
  • Repair or rework defective welds as instructed by supervisors or QC inspectors.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper handling of tools and materials.
  • Follow strict adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with pipe fitters, supervisors, and QC teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
