Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking experienced Pipe Welders (ARC) to perform high-quality pipe welding works for major engineering and construction projects in Mozambique.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on piping systems while ensuring compliance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
PIPE WELDER (ARC)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a Pipe Welder (ARC), SMAW Welder, or similar role in industrial or construction projects.
- Strong experience in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) for piping systems.
- Ability to perform high-quality root, fill, and cap welding passes.
- Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of welding procedures, inspection requirements, and safety standards.
- Experience in oil and gas, industrial plants, power plants, or large-scale construction projects is an advantage.
- No minimum educational attainment required.
- Willing to work on project sites in Mozambique.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on carbon steel, alloy steel, and other piping materials in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Prepare welding joints by checking fit-up, alignment, bevels, root gaps, and cleanliness before welding.
- Perform root, fill, and cap weld passes while maintaining proper welding techniques and quality standards.
- Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, welding symbols, spool drawings, and project specifications.
- Prepare pipes by cutting, grinding, beveling, and aligning materials prior to welding.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable welding standards.
- Perform repair welding and corrective work when necessary.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and efficient working condition.
- Follow approved welding procedures, quality control requirements, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, welding inspectors, supervisors, and other project personnel to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
