PIPE FITTER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter in industrial, construction, manufacturing, shipyard, or similar environments.
• Skilled in aluminum pipe installation, fitting, and fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of pipe-fitting methods, fabrication techniques, fittings, flanges, valves, and piping components.
• Able to read and interpret basic piping drawings and isometric drawings.
• Skilled in accurately measuring, cutting, preparing, fitting, and aligning pipes.
• Familiarity with pipe-fitting tools, measuring equipment, cutting tools, grinders, and other related equipment.
• Ability to prepare piping components and joints for welding or other connection methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Physically fit and capable of handling pipes and performing demanding work in various positions and environments.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and committed to meeting project schedules and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Install, fit, assemble, and fabricate pipes according to approved drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret basic piping drawings, isometric drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare pipes accurately for installation and fabrication.
• Fit and align pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, supports, and other piping components.
• Perform pipe fabrication work according to required dimensions, layouts, and project specifications.
• Install aluminum piping and related components using appropriate fitting and installation techniques.
• Prepare pipe joints and surfaces for welding, joining, or other approved connection methods.
• Check pipe dimensions, levels, slopes, alignment, and positioning before final installation.
• Use measuring instruments, pipe cutters, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and other pipe-fitting equipment safely and correctly.
• Make necessary adjustments to pipes and fittings to achieve proper alignment and fit.
• Assist welders and other tradespeople by properly preparing and positioning pipes for welding or final assembly.
• Inspect completed pipe installations for alignment, workmanship, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Identify and report defective materials, incorrect dimensions, installation issues, or other discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Follow approved piping procedures, project quality requirements, and workplace safety standards.
• Safely handle, move, and position pipes, fittings, and other materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Maintain pipe-fitting tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors, welders, fabricators, engineers, and other workers to complete piping activities efficiently.
• Complete assigned pipe-fitting and fabrication tasks according to project schedules.
• Perform other related pipe-fitting, installation, and fabrication duties as assigned by management.
