PIPE FITTER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• 3–5 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry is required.
• Proven experience in ship piping installation and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and piping drawings.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and fitting various types of pipes.
• Familiarity with pipes, valves, flanges, hangers, fittings, and related piping components.
• Able to work in confined and physically demanding shipyard environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and piping drawings to determine pipe routes and installation sequences.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and shape metal or plastic pipes according to specifications.
• Install and assemble pipes, valves, hangers, flanges, fittings, and other piping components.
• Perform pipe installation inside tight ship compartments, engine rooms, hulls, and other areas of vessels.
• Ensure proper alignment, fitting, support, and secure installation of piping systems.
• Use specialized hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and correctly.
• Inspect completed piping installations for proper fit, connections, and alignment.
• Assist with pressure testing, leak checking, and troubleshooting of piping systems when required.
• Follow shipbuilding specifications, workplace safety procedures, and quality standards.
