Centro Medico La Paz is seeking an experienced and qualified Nutritionist / Dietician to join its healthcare team in Equatorial Guinea. The successful candidate will assess patients’ nutritional status, identify malnutrition and nutritional risks, develop individualized nutrition care plans, monitor nutritional progress, and provide dietary guidance in coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Bachelor’s / College Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetics, Nutrition, or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of nutritional assessment, clinical nutrition, dietary planning, and nutritional care management.
- Ability to assess patients’ nutritional requirements based on their clinical condition and medical needs.
- Experience in developing, implementing, documenting, and monitoring individualized nutritional care plans.
- Knowledge of food preparation, food storage, food safety, and proper dietary administration in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain nutritional plans clearly to patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, food-service personnel, and other members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Advanced computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
- Able to easily adapt to new working environments, procedures, systems, and technologies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical ability, and commitment to quality patient care.
- Professional, responsible, compassionate, and capable of maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Willingness to work in a hospital environment and comply with established protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Identify patients with malnutrition or nutritional risk by considering physical examination findings, weight changes, disease conditions, and their impact on metabolic expenditure.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments based on the analysis and interpretation of relevant clinical data.
- Estimate patients’ nutritional requirements according to their medical condition, nutritional status, and treatment needs.
- Develop individualized nutritional care plans and establish appropriate nutritional goals for patients.
- Ensure compliance with written food, nutrition, and dietary protocols and established hospital procedures.
- Directly supervise technical procedures related to the acquisition and storage of raw materials, food preparation, transportation, and administration of meals to patients.
- Monitor food preparation and delivery processes to ensure that nutritional and dietary requirements are properly followed.
- Inform patients and/or their families about their nutritional care plans and encourage active participation in dietary management.
- Provide appropriate nutritional counseling and explain dietary recommendations in a clear and understandable manner.
- Coordinate and exchange relevant nutritional information with physicians and members of the medical and therapeutic team.
- Document all relevant steps of the nutritional care plan in the patient’s medical record.
- Record nutritional guidelines, calculated nutritional goals, patient progress, recommendations, and follow-up appointments accurately.
- Provide patients with an appropriate dietary plan upon discharge based on their nutritional and medical requirements.
- Provide guidance to patients and families regarding appropriate food preparation, cooking methods, meal planning, and dietary practices.
- Monitor patients’ nutritional progress and make appropriate adjustments to dietary recommendations when necessary.
- Evaluate and monitor the overall quality of nutritional care provided to patients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient nutrition records and documentation.
- Participate in hospital committees and activities related to food, nutrition, and dietetics.
- Plan, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and promote training programs for healthcare and support personnel involved in diet, nutrition, and food
- services.
- Keep updated on applicable nutrition, dietetics, food safety, and clinical nutrition practices.
- Perform other nutrition and dietetics-related duties assigned by hospital management.
