Hofmann Personal is seeking experienced Metal Cutting Operators (Flame Cutters) to join its steel fabrication and heavy industrial operations in the Czech Republic. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flame-cutting equipment to process steel materials according to production specifications while ensuring product quality, workplace safety, and efficient material handling. This position requires technical skills in flame cutting, steel finishing, equipment operation, and the ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
METAL CUTTING OPERATOR (Flame Cutter)
Qualifications:
- Maximum age of 35 years old.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in steel fabrication, flame cutting, or heavy industrial operations.
- Communicative level of English.
- Physically fit for heavy industrial work and able to pass an audiometric (hearing) examination.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Skilled in Flame cutting, Cleaning and finishing steel parts, Grinding, Blasting, Bundling and material handling
- Experience using Grinders, Cutting torches, Other hand tools
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic measurements accurately.
- Willing to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate flame-cutting machines and oxy-fuel cutting equipment to cut steel materials according to technical specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting plans, and production work orders.
- Perform accurate measurements and verify dimensions before and after cutting operations.
- Clean, grind, and finish steel cut parts to meet quality standards.
- Remove slag, burrs, and surface imperfections using grinders and other finishing tools.
- Mark, bundle, and prepare finished steel components for storage, transport, or further processing.
- Operate overhead cranes to move steel plates, cut parts, and heavy materials safely.
- Transport finished products within the production facility following company procedures.
- Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and compliance with production standards.
- Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain flame-cutting equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Report equipment malfunctions, production issues, or quality concerns to supervisors.
- Follow production schedules while maintaining productivity and minimizing material waste.
- Comply with workplace safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality management systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Perform other steel fabrication and production-related duties assigned by management.
