Super Service Limited is seeking an experienced and results-driven Merchandising Manager to lead merchandising operations and drive sales performance across its retail business in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing merchandising strategies, managing product categories, optimizing inventory, and leading the merchandising team to achieve business objectives.

MERCHANDISING MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, category management, or buying.
• Strong knowledge of merchandising principles, inventory management, and retail operations.
• Experience in demand forecasting, product planning, and stock replenishment.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/POS systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple product categories.
• Willing to travel to store locations and supplier sites as required.
• Results-oriented with strong organizational and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement merchandising strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and business growth targets.
• Plan product assortments, category mix, and inventory levels based on customer demand, sales trends, and market analysis.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory turnover, and consumer buying behavior to optimize product selection and stock allocation.
• Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, product availability, delivery schedules, and promotional support.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to minimize stock shortages and excess inventory.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to plan promotional campaigns, seasonal merchandise, and product launches.
• Ensure attractive product displays and compliance with merchandising standards across all store locations.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and business opportunities.
• Prepare sales forecasts, merchandising reports, inventory analyses, and performance reports for management.
• Develop pricing strategies, markdown plans, and promotional activities to maximize sales and profitability.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and supervise the merchandising team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, store managers, and internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, merchandising standards, and quality requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve merchandising processes, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
