Mechanical Technician

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must hold a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Practical experience in mechanical servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Experience servicing high-pressure compressors operating at approximately 300–350 bar is preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems, pumps, motors, valves, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective maintenance.
  • Relevant manufacturer training or certifications in high-pressure compressors, breathing apparatus, or mechanical equipment will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of equipment inspection, maintenance procedures, and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-pressure compressors, preferably operating at pressures of approximately 300–350 bar.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair pneumatic machines, systems, and equipment.
  • Service and maintain valves, pumps, motors, and associated mechanical components.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating equipment.
  • Inspect, service, maintain, and repair breathing apparatus and related equipment according to applicable procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair or maintenance actions.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, leaks, and other potential mechanical problems.
  • Test serviced or repaired equipment, where applicable, to verify proper and safe operation.
  • Follow equipment manuals, technical instructions, maintenance schedules, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment condition.
  • Report equipment defects and recommend appropriate corrective measures to help prevent breakdowns.
  • Follow established quality, safety, and operational requirements when handling mechanical equipment and breathing apparatus.
