All Trades Contract Services Ltd. is seeking an experienced Mason Stone (Finisher) to join its stone fabrication team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing, polishing, fabricating, and inspecting premium stone products, including benchtops, vanity tops, fireplaces, and other custom stone components. The role requires expertise in working with engineered stone, granite, marble, Dekton, and Neolith, while ensuring all products meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.

MASON STONE (FINISHER)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in stone fabrication, polishing, or finishing of benchtops, vanity tops, fireplaces, or similar stone products.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• Extensive experience working with engineered stone, granite, Dekton, Neolith, and marble.
• Experience operating stone fabrication machinery and equipment, including saws, inline polishing machines, CNC equipment, and waterjet cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and production specifications.
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices within a manufacturing or stone fabrication environment.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• An IELTS Overall Band Score of 4.0 is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Finish and complete stone components for benchtops, vanity tops, fireplaces, and custom stone products.
• Perform manual edge polishing to achieve smooth, high-quality finishes on cut stone surfaces.
• Fabricate and finish various sink bowl configurations, including undermount, flush mount, overmount, sloping drainers, and fluted bowls in accordance with company specifications.
• Complete hob cut-outs for both overmounted and flush-mounted installations.
• Fabricate mitred edges for engineered stone, granite, Dekton, Neolith, and marble products.
• Perform under-polishing of return faces and cutting or trimming using the Litox CNC Saw and other stone fabrication equipment.
• Prepare joints and apply sealants to natural stone surfaces according to company specifications.
• Inspect all stone components before polishing and finishing to identify defects, blemishes, or quality issues.
• Conduct final quality inspections using the company’s Quality Assurance (QA) checklist to ensure compliance with production standards.
• Match and layout stone pieces while ensuring proper grain direction, color consistency, thickness, and overall appearance.
• Carry out quality checks on other fabrication processes when requested by supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of grinders, polishing tools, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, fabrication plans, and production specifications.
• Follow all workplace health, safety, environmental, and company operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.
