Machine Operator for Wood Processing

Qualifications:

• Vocational Diploma, Short Course Certificate, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in wood processing, woodworking, furniture manufacturing, or related industries.
• Must have experience using wood cutting tools and woodworking machinery.
• Experience operating CNC and manual woodworking machines is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of machine setup, operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual woodworking machines such as saws, molders, lathes, routers, planers, edgers, pressing machines, shapers, drills, and sanders.
• Fabricate, process, and repair wooden components according to specifications.
• Operate gluing machines to bond wood pieces together and apply wood veneers to surfaces.
• Operate special-purpose woodworking machines to manufacture wood products and components.
• Read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure product quality standards are met.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of equipment.
• Replace worn or damaged machine parts as required.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and production standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist in achieving daily production targets and manufacturing schedules.
