Metal Fabricator

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in metal fabrication.
• Must be a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.
• Must have both local and overseas work experience.
• Proven experience in commercial kitchen, food service, or food processing equipment fabrication is required or highly preferred.
• Strong experience fabricating stainless steel products and equipment.
• Proficient in TIG welding, particularly on stainless steel.
• Strong metal fabrication skills beyond TIG welding and polishing.
• Ability to read and accurately work from engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Good polishing, grinding, buffing, and metal finishing skills.
• Knowledge of material preparation, including cutting, grinding, cleaning, and deburring.
• Ability to measure accurately and maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
• Good understanding of welding equipment setup, operation, and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on fabrication work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a production or fabrication team.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and quality-oriented.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate stainless steel products and commercial kitchen equipment according to specifications, measurements, and engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and fabrication plans.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape, form, and assemble metal components accurately.
• Fabricate commercial kitchen products, food service equipment, and process equipment using stainless steel and other appropriate materials.
• Prepare materials for fabrication and welding, including cutting, grinding, deburring, cleaning, and surface preparation.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment safely and correctly.
• Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel and other suitable metals.
• Ensure welds meet required quality, strength, appearance, and dimensional standards.
• Assemble fabricated components using appropriate tools, fasteners, welding, and other joining methods.
• Perform grinding, polishing, buffing, and other metal finishing processes.
• Produce smooth, clean, and high-quality stainless steel finishes suitable for commercial kitchen and food service applications.
• Inspect fabricated products to ensure dimensions, alignment, weld quality, finish, and overall workmanship meet specifications.
• Identify and correct fabrication defects, dimensional inaccuracies, weld defects, and finishing issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, cutting equipment, grinders, polishers, and other workshop machinery safely.
• Maintain tools, machinery, welding equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, designers, and other fabricators to meet production schedules and customer specifications.
• Minimize material waste while maintaining required quality and production standards.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and adjustments to fabricated products when required.
• Complete other metal fabrication and workshop duties as assigned.
