TRUCK MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Truck Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or related position.
• At least High School Graduate.
• Strong hands-on experience in truck and heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures, mechanical troubleshooting, and vehicle repair.
• Experience repairing or replacing brake components, wheel bearings, sensors, and other vehicle parts.
• Ability to inspect and diagnose mechanical problems accurately.
• Familiarity with manufacturer repair specifications and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to use common automotive tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to explain vehicle problems and repair requirements clearly.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on mechanical work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Responsible, reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious.
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic care of trucks and heavy vehicles.
• Change engine oil, filters, and other fluids according to recommended maintenance schedules.
• Check and maintain engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and other fluid levels.
• Inspect tires and perform tire rotation and related tire maintenance when required.
• Inspect vehicle systems and components for signs of wear, damage, leaks, or malfunction.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair requirements.
• Repair or replace worn or damaged components, including brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other mechanical parts.
• Inspect and repair braking, steering, suspension, transmission, engine, and other vehicle systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
• Use diagnostic tools, mechanical tools, testing equipment, and workshop equipment safely and correctly.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to verify that repairs have been completed properly.
• Identify potential mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs or preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replaced parts.
• Explain identified automotive problems, required repairs, and completed maintenance work clearly to customers or supervisors.
• Ensure all repair work meets quality, safety, and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and proper handling of automotive fluids and materials.
• Coordinate with other mechanics, technicians, supervisors, and transport personnel to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Perform other truck maintenance and mechanical repair duties as assigned.
