HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Heavy Truck Driver.
- Candidates must be at least a High School graduate.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Valid professional driver’s license appropriate for operating heavy trucks.
- Good knowledge of defensive driving techniques, road safety regulations, and heavy vehicle operation.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and identify basic mechanical issues.
- Physically fit and capable of working in varying weather and site conditions.
- Good communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy trucks to transport cargo, construction materials, and equipment according to assigned schedules and delivery routes.
- Plan efficient travel routes while considering traffic conditions, weather, road restrictions, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure all cargo is properly loaded, secured, and transported safely to prevent damage or loss during transit.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking fuel, engine oil, coolant, tires, brakes, lights, steering,
- hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.
- Report mechanical defects, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, vehicle inspections, maintenance activities, and delivery documentation.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and operational requirements.
- Comply with traffic laws, transportation regulations, company policies, and workplace safety procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism and good customer service when interacting with clients, suppliers, and project personnel.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when required and ensure proper handling of transported materials.
- Perform other transportation and logistics duties assigned by management.
