Heavy Equipment Operator

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in construction, industrial, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
• Skilled in operating one or more types of heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
• Knowledge of excavation, lifting, grading, and material handling procedures.
• Ability to read construction plans, work instructions, and site layouts.
• Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and safe equipment operating practices.
• Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license is an advantage.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, backhoes, forklifts, cranes, telehandlers, rollers, and other assigned machinery.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, lifting, material handling, and site preparation activities according to project requirements.
• Read and interpret site plans, work instructions, and construction drawings to complete assigned tasks accurately.
• Conduct daily pre-start and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Operate machinery safely while considering ground conditions, load capacities, underground utilities, and surrounding personnel.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, riggers, signalmen, and other construction personnel during equipment operations.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, including checking fuel, oil, coolant, hydraulic fluids, tires, tracks, and lubrication points.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs, inspection reports, and daily operation records.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, environmental, and company operating procedures.
• Keep equipment clean and maintain the work area in a safe and organized condition.
• Assist with general construction activities when equipment operation is not required.
• Perform other equipment operation duties assigned by management.
