HE Electrical Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, utility, or gas-processing facilities.
• Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or a related engineering discipline, as specified by the employer.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Recognized diploma, technical certificate, or trade qualification in Electrical Technology or an equivalent technical field.
• Documented competency for assigned electrical maintenance tasks.
• Completion of required site inductions, safety training, and medical fitness requirements.
• CWQAP evaluation/proof of qualification is required where applicable under the program scope.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical distribution, motors, MCCs, transformers, protection and control systems, VFDs, UPS systems, batteries, generators, lighting, heat tracing, and earthing systems.
• Familiarity with hazardous-area electrical equipment, permit-to-work systems, electrical isolation procedures, and workplace safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
• Physically fit and capable of working in industrial plant environments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain LV/MV electrical distribution systems, motors, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, and electrical panels.
• Service and maintain protection and control systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, generators, lighting systems, heat tracing systems, and earthing/grounding systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct electrical testing, insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and functional verification of electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Perform equipment isolation and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before carrying out electrical maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous-area electrical installation and maintenance requirements.
• Participate in permit-to-work (PTW), electrical isolation, gas testing, and emergency response procedures.
• Replace defective electrical components, cables, breakers, contactors, relays, and other electrical devices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, test results, and work orders.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with engineers, supervisors, planners, and operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain electrical tools, testing instruments, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Comply with company policies, Saudi regulations, and applicable electrical engineering standards.
• Perform other related duties assigned by supervisors or management.
