Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven cooking experience.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food preparation procedures.
- Ability to consistently execute menu items to a high culinary standard.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
- Experience managing kitchen inventory and ordering food supplies.
- Ability to organize food preparation and maintain kitchen readiness for service.
- Strong attention to detail with pride in food consistency, presentation, and quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Execute menu items consistently while maintaining excellent taste, appearance, and portion control.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner during service periods.
- Perform food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, seasoning, and ingredient preparation.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness in accordance with Australian food safety regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and storage conditions to minimize waste and ensure product integrity.
- Order food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen consumables while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Monitor stock usage and assist in controlling food costs through proper inventory management.
- Organize daily food preparation and ensure the kitchen is fully prepared before service begins.
- Inspect kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues when necessary.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with menu planning, recipe improvements, and seasonal menu development when required.
- Follow workplace health and safety policies and proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude with coworkers and customers.
- Perform other kitchen and food preparation duties assigned by management.
