GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• With Certificate in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Fine Arts, or Visual Communications is common, but vocational diplomas in digital design or desktop publishing also qualify.
• With good communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Producing computerized images, layouts, and digital files from designer sketches or concepts, including text, illustrations, and graphics.
• Preparing materials for printing, which involves creating proofs, separating colors, stripping film, and generating camera-ready files.
• Operating and maintaining digital printing, plotting, and finishing equipment (bindery, laminating).
• Ensuring color consistency across different media and processes, mixing chemicals if needed for traditional printing.
• Organizing and archiving digital assets, maintaining file systems for easy retrieval.
• Inspecting work in progress and finished products to meet quality and printability standards.
