General Labourer

Qualifications:

• Must have three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in the marine industry.
• Must have relevant experience working on yachts, marine pleasure crafts, or similar marine vessels.
• Must have hands-on experience and practical knowledge relevant to the General Labourer position.
• Experience assisting with marine maintenance, vessel repair, workshop operations, fabrication, construction, or related work is an advantage.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools and workshop equipment relevant to assigned tasks.
• Must be able to follow technical instructions, work procedures, and directions from supervisors.
• Must be able to maintain quality workmanship and complete assigned tasks carefully and accurately.
• Must observe workplace safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, standing, bending, reaching, and performing manual work for extended periods.
• Able to work in marine workshops, vessel environments, and outdoor work areas as required.
• Must be reliable, hardworking, responsible, and willing to assist other members of the marine team.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and maintain good communication with supervisors and co-workers.
• Willing to perform various general support duties according to operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Assist marine technicians, mechanics, welders, fabricators, builders, joiners, and other skilled workers with daily vessel maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform general labour and support tasks on yachts, marine pleasure crafts, and similar marine vessels.
• Assist with loading, unloading, moving, lifting, and organizing tools, equipment, materials, and marine components.
• Prepare work areas, materials, tools, and equipment before repair, fabrication, maintenance, or installation activities.
• Assist with cleaning, sanding, grinding, cutting, preparation, and other basic workshop tasks as directed.
• Support carpentry, fiberglass, welding, mechanical, painting, and general vessel maintenance activities when required.
• Assist skilled workers in holding, positioning, securing, and moving materials and components during fabrication and installation.
• Perform basic manual tasks using hand tools and equipment under appropriate supervision.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, workshops, storage spaces, and vessel work sites.
• Collect, sort, and properly dispose of waste materials, debris, packaging, and workshop refuse.
• Assist with preparation and handling of marine maintenance supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled technical personnel during assigned work.
• Assist in inspecting materials and equipment for visible damage or defects and report concerns to supervisors.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to vessels, equipment, tools, and other property.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of tools, equipment, and materials after use.
• Assist in preparing surfaces, components, and work areas for painting, fiberglass repair, welding, carpentry, or mechanical work.
• Observe proper procedures when handling tools, chemicals, cleaning materials, fuels, lubricants, and other marine workshop supplies.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with maintaining safe access, clear walkways, and orderly work areas around vessels and workshops.
• Work cooperatively with other workers and assist the team in completing projects on schedule.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged tools, equipment problems, or other workplace concerns to supervisors.
• Perform other general labour, vessel maintenance, workshop, and marine support duties as assigned.
