Accounts and Finance Officer
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with accounting software or digital accounting systems.
- Experience in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and preparing accounting documents.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic accounting discrepancies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
- Responsible, reliable, accurate, and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a finance and administrative team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
- Record and process daily financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform general bookkeeping and assist with maintaining the general ledger.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment records, and other accounting documents.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up on pending transactions when required.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules, and management reports.
- Review accounting entries and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities and closing procedures.
- Maintain organized physical and electronic accounting files and documentation.
- Ensure financial records and supporting documents are properly filed and readily accessible.
- Use Microsoft Excel to prepare spreadsheets, calculations, financial schedules, and reports.
- Enter and retrieve financial information using accounting software or digital accounting systems.
- Assist in monitoring company expenses and financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis when required.
- Assist with audit requirements by providing relevant accounting records and supporting documents.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.
- Ensure accounting activities follow company policies and established financial procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding invoices, payments, expenses, and other finance-related matters.
- Report accounting discrepancies or unusual transactions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.
