Fire Fighter

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant fire service experience.
• Must have relevant firefighting certifications or licenses.
• NFPA certification is required.
• Must hold Fire Fighter I or Fire Fighter II certification, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of firefighting, emergency response, rescue, and fire prevention procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous firefighting and emergency response duties.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in hazardous emergency situations.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

• Respond quickly to fires, accidents, and emergency situations within the port and designated areas.
• Conduct firefighting, rescue, and emergency response operations according to established procedures.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment, vehicles, hoses, pumps, breathing apparatus, and other emergency tools.
• Assess fire and emergency scenes and identify potential hazards before and during response operations.
• Perform fire suppression activities using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Assist in rescue and evacuation operations during emergencies.
• Provide basic emergency medical assistance and first aid within the scope of training and certification.
• Maintain readiness of firefighting equipment and emergency response systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of fire protection equipment and emergency facilities.
• Participate in fire drills, emergency exercises, and safety training programs.
• Follow established NFPA standards, workplace safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Assist with fire prevention activities, inspections, and hazard identification.
• Report incidents, equipment defects, safety hazards, and emergency response activities accurately.
• Maintain physical fitness and readiness to perform demanding firefighting and rescue duties.
• Work effectively with other firefighters, emergency responders, security personnel, and port operations teams.
• Perform other emergency response duties assigned by management.
