E&I QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as an E&I Quantity Surveyor or in a closely related quantity surveying position.
- Must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Others), or a similar field.
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) construction projects is highly relevant to the position.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, measurement, BOQs, cost estimation, progress valuation, and variation management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical and instrumentation layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, installation works, and construction activities.
- Ability to accurately calculate quantities and prepare detailed measurement sheets and commercial documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical skills.
- Ability to monitor actual quantities and construction progress against approved project requirements.
- Good understanding of project documentation, change orders, variations, and payment certification procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, construction, procurement, commercial, and project management teams.
- Physically fit and capable of conducting site inspections and measurements in a construction environment.
- Able to work independently and meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Responsible, organized, hardworking, and committed to professional quantity surveying and commercial standards.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for electrical and instrumentation works based on approved drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Measure quantities of electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, installations, and construction activities.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents to identify project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for E&I works.
- Verify quantities against approved drawings, site conditions, and project specifications.
- Prepare material quantity estimates for cables, conduits, cable trays, electrical equipment, instruments, fittings, supports, and related E&I materials.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and commercial calculations for electrical and instrumentation works.
- Monitor project quantities and compare actual site progress against planned quantities.
- Conduct site measurements and verify completed E&I works for progress valuation.
- Prepare interim payment applications, progress claims, and supporting quantity documentation.
- Assist in evaluating variations, change orders, additional works, and omissions.
- Measure and document variations arising from design changes, site instructions, or revised project requirements.
- Review subcontractor and contractor quantity submissions and verify their accuracy.
- Assist in preparing subcontractor payment certificates and commercial evaluations.
- Monitor material usage and identify significant quantity variations or potential wastage.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and site teams to obtain accurate quantity and cost information.
- Review drawings and specifications for discrepancies that may affect quantities, costs, or project scope.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, quantity calculations, BOQs, variations, claims, and supporting documents.
- Update quantity records based on approved design revisions and construction progress.
- Assist in forecasting final quantities, project costs, and potential commercial variations.
- Support the preparation of monthly cost reports, quantity reports, and commercial documentation.
- Ensure quantity surveying activities comply with project procedures, contractual requirements, and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, supervisors, contractors, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
- Assist in resolving quantity, measurement, and commercial discrepancies between project parties.
- Maintain proper filing and version control of drawings, BOQs, measurement sheets, and commercial documents.
- Perform other quantity surveying, cost control, measurement, and commercial duties assigned by management.
