CIVIL TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, Construction, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in road, bridge, and building maintenance.
• Proven experience in civil infrastructure maintenance and repair.
• Must provide a valid experience certificate.
• Must provide valid academic qualification documents.
• Good knowledge of construction and civil maintenance methods.
• Familiarity with road, bridge, concrete, masonry, and building maintenance work.
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Good inspection, measurement, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work safely in construction and maintenance environments.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
• Physically fit and capable of performing civil maintenance duties.

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair work on roads, bridges, buildings, and civil infrastructure.
• Inspect civil structures and identify cracks, deterioration, damage, defects, and other maintenance requirements.
• Assist in assessing the condition of roads, bridges, buildings, concrete structures, and related facilities.
• Perform or supervise routine civil maintenance activities according to project requirements.
• Assist with concrete repair, patching, surface preparation, masonry, and other construction-related maintenance work.
• Support road maintenance activities, including repairs to damaged surfaces and related infrastructure.
• Assist with bridge maintenance and repair activities while following approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform building maintenance, including minor structural, masonry, finishing, and repair works.
• Read and interpret basic construction drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Measure and inspect construction or repair work to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams during assigned activities.
• Monitor the progress and quality of maintenance and repair work.
• Identify defective materials, workmanship issues, or unsafe conditions and report them to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, materials used, and completed work.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are properly maintained and organized.
• Follow construction, maintenance, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing civil works.
• Assist with material preparation, site measurements, and other technical activities as required.
• Perform other civil maintenance and technical duties assigned by management.
