Turbo Staff Limited is seeking experienced Drainlayers to join its civil infrastructure team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will install, maintain, and repair underground drainage systems for roading and infrastructure projects while ensuring all work complies with engineering specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

Drainlayer/Drainage (Civil Infrastructure)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience as a Drainlayer or in civil drainage construction.
• At least a High School Graduate.
• Proven experience working with PVC pipes, large concrete pipes, and underground drainage systems.
• Experience operating drainage equipment such as Ditch Witch, Vermeer, or similar trenching machinery.
• Ability to read construction plans, levels, and engineering drawings.
• Proven track record of overseas employment with supporting documents, including:
  • Certificate of Employment (COE)
  • Employment Contract
  • Letter from Employer
  • Pay Slips
  • Company ID
  • Residence Permit, or equivalent employment records.
• Must possess a valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the country of work or residence for more than five (5) years, where applicable.
• Very good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Preferably with a valid driver’s license.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship in civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair large-scale civil drainage systems, including stormwater networks, culverts, manholes, and underground pipelines.
• Lay and connect PVC pipes and large concrete pipes for drainage and infrastructure projects.
• Operate drainage equipment such as Ditch Witch, Vermeer, and other trenching and pipe installation machinery.
• Work safely around deep excavations while complying with site safety procedures and trench protection requirements.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, levels, and engineering specifications.
• Work closely with machine operators, surveyors, and civil construction crews to ensure accurate installation of drainage systems.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Report site hazards, equipment issues, and project progress to supervisors.
