Peloton Workready is seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter for an overseas work opportunity in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting construction plans, measuring and cutting materials, building structural frameworks, installing doors, windows, trim, and cabinetry, and performing carpentry repairs while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance with building requirements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Carpenter or in a related carpentry and construction position.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in a relevant or similar field.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have relevant work experience in the same field.
- Practical experience in residential, commercial, or general construction carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, construction plans, sketches, and specifications.
- Skilled in measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, fitting, and assembling timber and other construction materials.
- Experience in constructing walls, floor systems, partitions, roof trusses, frames, and other structural components.
- Skilled in installing doors, windows, moldings, trim, cabinets, shelving, hardware, and other fixtures.
- Ability to perform carpentry repairs, replacements, adjustments, and maintenance on wooden structures and components.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, chisels, routers, nail guns, and sanders.
- Knowledge of proper tool maintenance, cleaning, storage, and safe operating procedures.
- Good understanding of measurements, dimensions, levels, angles, alignment, and fitting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality workmanship.
- Good practical problem-solving and technical skills.
- Good understanding of construction-site safety procedures, building requirements, and proper PPE use.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, standing, and working at heights when required.
- Ability to work efficiently according to project schedules and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, construction plans, sketches, work orders, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Review drawings and determine the required dimensions, materials, measurements, cutting lists, and construction methods.
- Measure and mark timber, wood products, drywall, and other construction materials accurately using rules, levels, squares, tape measures, and other measuring tools.
- Cut, shape, drill, plane, sand, and prepare wood and other materials according to project specifications.
- Construct and erect structural frameworks, including walls, floors, partitions, ceilings, and roof structures.
- Build and install floor systems, wall frames, partition systems, roof trusses, rafters, and other structural components.
- Install and secure timber framing and other structural elements using appropriate nails, screws, bolts, anchors, brackets, and fasteners.
- Construct non-structural walls, partitions, and other interior carpentry components.
- Install doors, windows, frames, moldings, skirting boards, architraves, trim, and other finishing components.
- Install built-in cabinets, shelving, counters, and other custom woodwork according to drawings and specifications.
- Fit and adjust doors, windows, cabinets, drawers, hardware, locks, hinges, handles, and other fixtures to ensure proper operation.
- Perform detailed finishing work, including fitting, trimming, sanding, leveling, and aligning carpentry components.
- Inspect existing wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, and other timber components for damage, deterioration, or defects.
- Repair, replace, reinforce, or rebuild damaged wooden structures, furniture, doors, frames, and other carpentry components.
- Remove damaged or defective materials and install suitable replacement components.
- Use appropriate hand tools and power tools, including saws, drills, chisels, planes, routers, nail guns, sanders, and other carpentry equipment.
- Set up, operate, clean, and maintain tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures.
- Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damaged or defective equipment to the supervisor.
- Ensure completed carpentry work is properly aligned, level, plumb, securely fastened, and finished to the required standard.
- Conduct quality checks and make necessary adjustments or corrections to ensure accurate fit and professional workmanship.
- Safely handle, transport, store, and protect timber, tools, hardware, and other construction materials.
- Minimize material waste through accurate measurements, efficient cutting, and proper planning.
- Coordinate with builders, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, painters, roofers, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Follow construction schedules and complete assigned carpentry work within required timeframes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout construction and installation activities.
- Follow applicable Australian building requirements, construction standards, workplace procedures, and safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when operating tools and performing construction activities.
- Identify and report structural concerns, unsafe conditions, material shortages, or other site issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other carpentry, construction, installation, repair, and maintenance duties assigned by management.
