AMAD Hospital is seeking qualified and experienced Bowel Movement Nurses (LTC & Rehab) for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring long-term care and rehabilitation, with a focus on bowel management, continence care, hygiene, and prevention of related complications.
Bowel Movement Nurse (LTC & Rehab)
Qualifications:
- Female applicants are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Must hold a valid Professional Nursing License and have passed the required professional licensure examination.
- Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or gastrointestinal nursing is preferred.
- Experience in bowel management, continence care, wound care, or ostomy care is an advantage.
- Preferably with DataFlow and Mumaris registration.
- Candidates without these credentials may be considered if willing to undergo processing as soon as possible.
- Training in continence management, wound care, or ostomy care is an advantage.
- Good patient assessment and clinical documentation skills.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, infection prevention, and skin integrity.
- Compassionate and respectful approach to personal and continence care.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ bowel health and bowel movement patterns.
- Identify and monitor conditions such as constipation, diarrhea, bowel irregularities, and incontinence.
- Assist patients with toileting, personal hygiene, and appropriate use of continence aids.
- Develop and implement appropriate bowel management interventions according to patient needs and clinical protocols.
- Monitor patients for signs of fecal impaction, skin breakdown, infection, and other complications.
- Provide appropriate nursing care and interventions for bowel and continence concerns.
- Educate patients and their families about diet, hydration, bowel routines, and lifestyle practices that support healthy bowel function.
- Promote patient dignity, comfort, privacy, and independence during bowel and continence care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of bowel assessments, interventions, patient responses, and progress.
- Coordinate with physicians, rehabilitation professionals, dietitians, wound-care specialists, and other healthcare team members when necessary.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, hygiene, and healthcare facility protocols.
- Assist in developing individualized care plans for patients in long-term care and rehabilitation settings.
- Monitor the effectiveness of bowel management plans and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide education regarding prevention of bowel-related complications and proper continence care.
- Perform other nursing duties assigned by nursing management.
