Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City is seeking a qualified and experienced Biomedical Engineer for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, inspecting, and supporting biomedical equipment used in healthcare facilities while ensuring equipment safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience in medical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and technical support.
- Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment and healthcare technology systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems involving medical and biomedical equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of equipment safety, calibration, testing, and performance requirements.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, technical teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient and equipment safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain biomedical and medical equipment used throughout the healthcare facility.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, and evaluate medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical equipment according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and diagnose technical problems.
- Repair or coordinate the repair of defective biomedical equipment and components.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential problems before equipment failure occurs.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and functional tests on medical devices.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and calibration.
- Ensure biomedical equipment is properly documented, labeled, and maintained.
- Coordinate with clinical departments to understand equipment requirements and address technical concerns.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to healthcare staff on the safe and proper use of biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and service providers for equipment installation, repair, calibration, and servicing.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new medical equipment and technology when required.
- Review technical specifications, manuals, service documentation, and equipment requirements.
- Support equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
- Ensure biomedical equipment maintenance activities comply with applicable safety standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and equipment management programs.
- Monitor spare parts, service requirements, warranties, and equipment lifecycle information.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other biomedical engineering and technical duties assigned by management.
