BOILERMAKER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, blueprints, and layout instructions.
• Proven experience in boilermaking, heavy metal fabrication, vessel construction, installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Strong knowledge of metal plate and tube preparation, cutting, shaping, fitting, and fabrication.
• Ability to accurately measure, mark, align, and fit heavy metal components.
• Practical knowledge of welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and industrial fabrication equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work safely with heavy materials, industrial equipment, and large-scale structures.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to identify and correct fabrication or fitting issues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary construction or industrial team.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Physically capable of performing demanding boilermaking and fabrication duties in an industrial work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build, fabricate, install, maintain, and repair large-scale industrial vessels and metal structures.
• Work on boilers, pressure vessels, storage tanks, vats, and water or chemical containers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, and layout instructions.
• Measure, mark, lay out, cut, shape, and fit heavy metal plates, sections, pipes, and tubes according to specifications.
• Prepare metal components for fabrication, assembly, welding, and installation.
• Erect and securely position large boilers, closed vats, storage tanks, and other fabricated structures.
• Perform accurate fitting and alignment of metal components before welding or final assembly.
• Use specialized welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
• Carry out welding and fabrication work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Inspect fabricated and assembled components to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, fit, and structural integrity.
• Identify fabrication defects, dimensional discrepancies, and other issues and make appropriate corrections.
• Assist with installation and repair work at industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, and processing facilities.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on boilers, tanks, pressure containers, and related metal structures.
• Follow appropriate procedures when working with heavy materials, elevated structures, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.
• Maintain tools, welding equipment, machinery, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, fitters, engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, measurements, inspections, repairs, and materials when required.
• Ensure all completed fabrication and installation work meets required quality, safety, and technical standards.
• Perform other boilermaking, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair duties assigned by the supervisor.
